Wisconsin Governor declares flags to be flown at half-staff after the Temple shooting tragedy.
On Sunday, August 5, 2012, several individuals at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin in Oak Creek, Wisconsin tragically were injured or lost their lives due a senseless act of violence. Worshipers had come to the temple for Sunday services, when the shooting broke out around 10:30 am. The FBI is currently investigating a motive and if there were other shooters involved.
Wisconsin state governor Scott Walker issued a proclamation stating, “That the Flag of the United States and the Flag of the State of Wisconsin be Flown at Half-Staff as a Mark of Respect for Victims of the Tragedy at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin.” Monday, August 6, 2012 has been declared a day of mourning; flags should be at half-staff from sunrise to sunset not only today, but also on the date of each victim’s funeral.
