The United States Postal Service concludes the Flags of Our Nation series by releasing the final set of flag stamps this month. The Flags of Our Nation stamp series features flags from each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and other U.S. territories. The stamp series has been released alphabetically in groups over the last four years, designed by Tom Engeman, an artist from Delaware. The last set of the flag stamp series released this month featuring the flags of Texas, Utah, Vermont, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming and the Stars & Stripes.
Drew Aliperto, the Postal Service’s Pacific area vice president of operations, said, “In these images, we see the story of America its heritage and history, the ideals and aspirations of its people, the beauty and charm of its natural treasures.” Catherine Wright, Postal Service operations manager for the Wyoming area, added, “These flag stamps highlight our American values, our heritage, our unity and our natural wonders.” The state stamps feature the state’s flag, as well as artwork providing a snapshot to represent the respective state.
Specific state stamps are not sold individually, rather are sold as a part of the Flags of our Nations series. Stamps are available for order online or at post offices across the nation.
