Loyalty Day and Law Day: Reaffirming and Recognizing the Heritage of American Freedom

Today marks the first day of the month of May: May 1st. Happy Loyalty Day and Law Day!

Loyalty Day is a special day to reaffirm your loyalty to the United States – and what better way to do that than with an American flag? It is a day to honor the patriots that risked their lives to bring freedom to this nation – and we celebrate that freedom while remembering to our responsibilities to continue the legacy of liberty. Enjoy the parades, ceremonies and other various events to partake in. Although today is a legal holiday, it is not commonly observed; Loyalty Day is not a federal holiday, so most people do not have the day off.

Today also happens to be Law Day and much like Loyalty Day, Law Day is another holiday that is not commonly observed.  Law Day is intended to help people appreciate their liberties, especially in regard to equality and justice.  Law Day also aims to encourage respect for the law, which is vital to our democratic way of life.

Today is a day to take the time to honor the American Flag and all that it stands for.
