The Cincinnati Bengals are an NFL football team that is located in Cincinnati, Ohio. The franchise began in 1968 and they currently play in the AFC North division with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens. Their official team colors are black, orange and white. The team is owned by Mike Brown, son of the team’s co-founder, Paul Brown.
Team History
The Cincinnati Bengals have been a below average team throughout their 47+ year history. They have won the AFC twice, appearing in two Super Bowls, but have no trophy’s to show for it. They have won the division only 8 times and have made 13 playoff appearances. The team has been much better in the past 10 years however. The Bengals have actually made the playoffs each of the last 4 seasons, but have failed to win a playoff game. Will 2015 be the year that they finally get over the hump?
Stadium
The Cincinnati Bengals played at Riverfront Stadium for nearly 30 years before opening a new stadium in 2000. The new stadium was named after the team’s co-founder, Paul Brown. Paul Brown Stadium is a 65,000 seat stadium located in downtown Cincinnati. While an upgrade from the previous stadium, there is nothing spectacular about it. The stadium is sometimes referred to as “The Jungle” because that is a Bengal tiger’s natural habitat.
