Celebrate a branch of the US military by learning about the Air Force flag history and their official seal.
Like the other military flags, the Air Force flag symbolizes a prestigious history of dedication to this country. This dark blue flag consists of the Air Force coat of arms in the middle, surrounded by 13 white stars that represent the 13 original colonies. The three stars grouping at the very top is meant to portray the three departments – Army, Navy, and Air Force.
At the top of the seal is a bald eagle in front of a cloud formation. A wreath is also a part of the emblem and is composes of six folds of silver and blue. Like the other military flags, the indoor version is outlined with gold fringe, while the outdoor version is not. On March 26th, 1951, President Harry S. Truman declared this flag the official Air Force Flag.
Directly below the Air Force seal are the words, “United States Air Force,” and the Roman numeral for 1947, which is the year the Air Force was established. It was July 28th, 1947 that the National Security Act became law and created the Department known as the Air Force. Under the act, W. Stuart Symington became the first Secretary of the Air Force and Gen. Carl A. Spaatz became the first Chief of Staff.

We do love our flag. Flying high!
I am trying to found out why there is a flag version with all bolt tips in red and one where they are not. I see more official AF photos with yellow tips with the exception of the 3 center twisted bolts which are red tipped.
My siblings are in the Air Force and i am proud them
