United Arab Emirates (UAE) National Day is December 2nd! This day marks the UAE’s formal nationalization from Britain in 1971, as well as, the joining of the 7 emirates to make one unified country. The emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates are Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah, and Umm al-Quwain.
During UAE National Day, grand celebrations are held across the country to mark the day. Fireworks, car rallies, and dance shows are some of the most common activities. UAE National Day Events
Children participate in the Spirit of the Union Parade in Abu Dhabi by waving the National flag of UAE on Yas Island. Also held at the Yas Island celebration are picnics, fun fair, and GP2 and GP3 track action followed by fireworks.
At the Dubai Marina Yacht Club, yachts and boats alike cruise the canal with UAE themed decorations.
Last weekend at the Emaar’s Parade Downtown Dubai, sports cars formed a flag-like formation in the design of the UAE flag in honor of UAE National Day.
The flag of the United Arab Emirates was adopted the same day the UAE gained its independence! The colors red, green, white and black symbolize Arabian unity. This flag is also the flag of emirate Fujairah.
