World’s Largest Free-Flying US Flag

To celebrate Labor Day, the New York City Bridge displayed the world’s largest free-flying US flag.

To celebrate Labor Day, New York and New Jersey Port Authorities went above and beyond to show off their patriotism. Displayed from the famous New York City bridge was the world’s largest free-flying American flag. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey unfurled the massive American flag on Monday, September 2nd on the George Washington Bridge as a way to honor every working man and woman across the United States.

This flag isn’t just any flag, it is the largest free-flying American flag in the entire world. It measures a total of 90 feet (27 meters) long and 60 feet (18 meters) wide.  In order to preserve the quality of the flag, the Port Authority took the flag down Monday evening after letting it fly all day.
